Job summary

The Kinetic Group in Lewiston, Idaho is seeking skilled Machine Tool Operators to support manufacturing by supplying tooling and machine parts. The role involves cutting, shaping, grinding, polishing, and inspecting metal workpieces to exact specifications using Overbeck, CNC ID grinding, polishing, and honing equipment.

Starting pay is $33.56/hr with regular increases to $38.89/hr after 52 weeks. You will document work orders, manage tooling, and participate in shop initiatives including 5S and

Qualifications

• Must understand English.
• Must be able to read, write, and perform math calculations.
• Must not have any written disciplinary action in the past twelve months.
• Must pass a written test with 85% or higher to be considered for an interview.
• Must have good housekeeping and organizational skills.
• Must supply own hand tools.
• Must be able to work independently without continual supervision.
• Must have previous education or experience in machining or production machine operation.
• Must not have any written disciplinary action regarding attendance in the past two years.
• Must be able to use measuring devices to the nearest 0.0001”
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must have good communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintains, and operates grinders and polishing machines to size and finish workpieces.
• Inspect and measure dimensions to 0.0001” to verify conformance to specifications.
• Review blueprints and work orders to plan sequence of operations and select grinding wheels.
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of grinding supplies.
• Punch blanks, deburr, and box parts for heat treat as required.
• Perform 5S, Kaizen, and safety initiatives in the shop.
• Operate and maintain EDMs, CNC lathe (for electrodes), and honing equipment as needed.
• Assist in general shop duties and tool handling under supervision.
