Job summary

Taurus Engineering seeks a Production Technician to support daily manufacturing and mechanical assembly in the Production Department. The role focuses on precision machining, inspection, and adherence to quality standards to ensure reliable product output.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to troubleshoot issues, maintain documentation, and uphold continuous improvement efforts. Candidates should have solid mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• 3+ years in machining/mechanical assembly environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Working knowledge of CNC setup and operation
• Basic shop math and production documentation competence

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machining equipment (CNC lathes/mills, manual machines) to produce precision parts per drawings and work orders
• Read engineering drawings and work orders for dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, tooling instructions
• Load programs, set tool offsets, and adjust to hold tolerances
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges
• Deburr, clean, and prepare machined parts for inspection and assembly
• Complete assembly tasks using hand/power tools and torque equipment, verify components meet spec
• Perform general quality inspections for machined parts and assemblies and document results
• Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming material and report to supervisor
• Maintain safe work practices, PPE usage, and daily housekeeping
