Job summary

Shields Manufacturing in Tualatin, Oregon is seeking a Precision Machining Production Team Lead to guide a skilled crew on the day shift. You’ll own day‑to‑day operations on the shop floor, ensuring on‑time delivery, quality, safety, and uptime of CNC equipment in a quick‑turn job shop setting.

Lead initiatives to train and coach staff, set measurable goals, and collaborate with Quoting and Engineering to communicate capabilities and lead times for prototypes and high‑precision parts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading precision machining teams in a high-mix environment.
• Proven ability to plan workloads and meet due dates without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on time: plan, assign, and supervise work across cells; track progress to meet due dates while safeguarding quality, safety, and equipment life.
• Elevate people and process: train, coach, set measurable goals, maintain morale, celebrate wins, and foster ownership.
• Engineer reliability: troubleshoot issues, schedule routine service, arrange repairs, and procure parts to maximize uptime.
• Protect quality and assets: ensure proper tooling and methods; align with AS9100; communicate actions and irregularities to maintain cross-shift continuity.
• Collaborate to move fast: inform Quoting and Engineering of capabilities and lead times; guide prototyping and short‑run production of high‑precision parts.

At Shields Manufacturing in Tualatin, Oregon, you’ll guide a skilled crew producing close‑tolerance parts that drive industrial robotics, automation, electronics, and wafer processing. As our Precision Machining Production Team Lead, you will report to the Manufacturing Manager and take full ownership of the day shift (M–F, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)—on site, on the floor, where it matters.
