Job summary

B&A Precision is seeking a Precision Machining NPI & CAM Engineer to translate blueprints into robust manufacturing plans for both new and repeat orders. You will program CNC equipment, lead first-article lots, and contribute to scheduling to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high quality.

You will use CAD/CAM tools, document quality checks, and apply lean concepts to optimize shop floor throughput. An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred, with equivalent experience welcome.

  • Blueprint literacy and strong machining fundamentals.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and DNC connectivity.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Transform customer drawings into robust manufacturing plans for new and repeat orders.
  • Document quality checkpoints by creating/editing inspection sheets for the shop floor.
  • Program CNC equipment to deliver first-time-right parts on lathes and mills.
  • Lead NPI first-article lots through release and support shop scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot on-the-floor process issues to remove bottlenecks and improve flow.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM and DNC systems for programming and data transfer.
  • Contribute to quotes and estimates for prospective work.
  • Apply basic Lean Manufacturing concepts to improve flow and reduce waste.

We’re expanding and seeking a Precision Machining NPI & CAM Engineer who will report to the Shop President and design the process pathways that ensure parts meet specification and ship on time.Role focusTransform customer drawings into robust manufacturing plans for both new and repeat orders.Document quality checkpoints by creating/editing inspection sheets for the shop floor.Program CNC equipment to deliver first-time-right parts:Lathes: 2- and 3-axis, including bar-feeder setupsMills: 3-, 4-, and 5-axisSelect and procure cutting tools and holders aligned to part geometry and materials.Specify and order workholding, including lathe jaws and milling fixtures.Lead New Product Introduction first-article lots through release.Support shop scheduling to balance throughput and due dates.Troubleshoot on-the-floor process issues to remove bottlenecks.Utilize CAD/CAM and DNC systems for programming and data transfer.Contribute to quotes and estimates for prospective work.Apply basic Lean Manufacturing concepts to improve flow and reduce waste.Technical domainMaterials: stainless steel and aluminum machining expertise.Special processes: working knowledge of NDT, heat treatment, and coatings, specifically for aerospace, defense, and medical components.Your toolkitBlueprint literacy, strong machining fundamentals, and proven CNC programming skills.Experience with CAD/CAM software and DNC connectivity.Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience welcomed.Schedule, pay, and benefitsFull-time, 1st shiftExtremely competitive salaryMedical coverage, company-matching 401(k), paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick timeImpact you’ll makeBy combining blueprint reading, machining acumen, and programming expertise, you will safeguard quality and on-time delivery while reinforcing efficient workflows and our culture of manufacturing excellence.
