Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Multiple pathways to qualification via apprenticeship or extensive repair experience
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts and specifications
• Proficient in diagnosing defects and restoring machinery to operation
• Physical ability to work with mechanical parts and tools
• Experience in a manufacturing setting and safety-conscious

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects in operations and determine repair steps
• Disassemble, repair, replace parts and reassemble machines
• Reline spindles and shafts, scrape and fit bearings
• Repair valves, solenoids and cylinders and fit precision parts
• Set timing devices and balance and align machinery
• Ensure repaired equipment operates safely and reliably
• Work from layouts, blueprints, drawings or specifications
