Job summary

Chromalox is seeking a skilled machinist in Ogden, Utah to set up and operate automatic or manual production machines, cut sheet metal, and run annealing/brazing processes per blueprints and specifications.

The role requires blueprint reading, precise measurement, and strict adherence to quality standards. You will inspect parts, maintain TPM routines, and collaborate with a team to improve manufacturing efficiency while keeping the work area clean and safe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience in production.
• Experience applying basic arithmetic for measurements and units.
• Experience using measuring devices to meet drawing dimensions and specs.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and safety manuals.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and shop orders to determine setup and sequence of operations.
• Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures on the machine.
• Sets and regulates machining factors including pressure, blade angle, and speed.
• Marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpieces.
• Starts machine and monitors operation, adjusts as needed for multiple passes.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled.
• Inspects or measures work using rules, gauges, and templates.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area; supports safety policies.
