Job summary

UFP Industries seeks a Machine Operator I to safely run automated manufacturing lines on the day shift. You will monitor production equipment, respond to alarms, perform quality checks, and ensure smooth product flow with attention to safety.

The role requires manufacturing experience and the ability to read instructions, perform basic measurements, and maintain documentation. Extrusion or polymer experience is a plus; high school diploma preferred. Training for safety and LOTO may be provided.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience required or similar setting.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, and complete production documentation.
• Basic math and measurement skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated production equipment (saws, stackers, ovens, conveyors) per SOPs.
• Monitor HMI/control screens, setpoints and alarms; adjust within parameters as needed.
• Load/unload materials and maintain materials/supplies for continuous production.
• Perform start-up/shutdown and routine equipment checks; document production data and quality results.
• Conduct quality inspections and random checks to verify product specifications.
• Stack, label, band, and prepare finished product per standards and customer requirements.
• Identify and report issues; partner with maintenance and leads for troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, safe 5S work area and communicate status between shifts.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and team meetings.
• Assist with training and mentoring new operators.
