Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator I - Automated Manufacturing (Day Shift) to safely operate and monitor automated production equipment in a fast-paced facility. You will support saws, stackers, ovens, and automated handling while recording data and ensuring smooth product flow.

The role requires manufacturing experience and the ability to read instructions, perform quality checks, and maintain 5S safety standards.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience required or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions and complete production documentation.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated production equipment (saws, stackers, ovens/cure, conveyors) per SOPs.
• Monitor HMI/control screens, production setpoints, alarms; adjust within parameters and escalate when needed.
• Load/unload materials and maintain materials/supplies for continuous production.
• Perform start-up/shutdown and routine equipment checks; document data, downtime and quality results.
• Conduct quality inspections and random checks to verify product specs.
• Stack, label, and prepare finished product per standards and customer requirements.
• Identify and report mechanical, electrical, automation, or quality issues; assist maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safety-focused work area (5S).
• Communicate production status between shifts; participate in safety and CI meetings.
• Assist training and mentoring new operators as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
