Job summary

Carlisle Brake & Friction in Bloomington, IN is seeking a General Machine Operator to run mechanical and automated presses for brake, clutch, and transmission parts. You will perform set-up, operate equipment, and complete quality checks per the control plan.

The role requires safety focus, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift with overtime as needed. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a 401(k) plan with company matching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years manufacturing or machine operating experience; entry welcome.
• Ability to lift tooling and products up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English at a 12th grade level or better.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations in a safe manner.
• Review equipment at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order.
• Ensure needed materials are ready and notify supervision of shortages.
• Adjust equipment parameters as stated in the router.
• Operate equipment as stated in the router.
• Perform quality checks per control plan.
• Complete hour by hour boards with documentation of issues if goals are not attained and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor equipment to ensure optimum running and notify supervision of any equipment issues.
• Maintain and clean equipment before and after each shift.
• Complete operator specific preventative maintenance procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
