Job summary

Somic America, a leader in automotive components, is seeking a CNC machinist for the 1st shift in Maine—Brewer, ME. The role focuses on setting up and operating numerical control equipment to machine parts per specifications, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Responsibilities include completing changeovers, measuring parts with in-process checks, and maintaining a safe work environment while meeting quality targets. Training and ongoing improvement are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work area and work in a safe manner.
• Perform hourly checks using in-process sheets and gauging to ensure parts meet quality specs.
• Complete changeovers using the Changeover Procedure and set up fixtures.
• Operate CNC equipment, index cutting tools to set points, and measure parts for conformance.
