Job summary

Kelly is seeking a reliable Machine Operator I for the 1st shift in Attleboro, MA to operate production machines producing high-precision parts. You will monitor output, perform setups and inspections, and follow blueprints and work instructions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to read and write English, and familiarity with measurement tools.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of work or volunteer experience (manufacturing preferred)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to read and write in English
• Competent in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Able to work independently under indirect supervision
• 1+ year of experience in machine setup and operation
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of continuous improvement or Lean/Kaizen principles

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machines and equipment to ensure proper function and output.
• Perform machine setups, adjustments, and tool changes as needed.
• Conduct in-process inspections using gauges and measurement tools to maintain part quality.
• Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical documents.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately using paper and electronic systems.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks including lubrication, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues.
• Assist with 5S and Kaizen initiatives for workspace efficiency and organization.
• Collaborate with team members to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Train and support other operators when necessary.
• Lift and move materials up to 30 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs), and operate lift equipment as needed.
