Job summary

Timken Aurora Bearing in Illinois is seeking a Precision Machine Operations Technician to support bearings manufacturing and ensure high reliability for aerospace and industrial motion applications. You will participate in machine setups, run first-piece parts, perform adjustments, and document setup approvals during both day and afternoon shifts.

You will operate presses, grinders, lathes, and milling equipment, while verifying fit with precise gauging tools.

Qualifications

  • Read blueprints and documentation to ensure part conformance.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior manufacturing and machine operation experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with gauges and micrometers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review prints and confirm workstation readiness at shift start.
  • Perform machine setups to defined parameters and run first-piece parts.
  • Load parts, cycle equipment, and inspect at planned intervals.
  • Make adjustments to maintain print-defined characteristics and document setup approval.
  • Keep equipment running by checking fluids and ensuring safe operation.

Precision Machine Operations Technician (Bearings Manufacturing)Step into a role where hands-on craftsmanship meets high reliability. We’re hiring for multiple day and afternoon shift opportunities and provide structured on-the-job training with clear paths for advancement.CompensationStarting pay based on experience: $18.50–$20.50 per hourSecond shift premium: +$1.50/hourA Day in the LifeBegin your shift by reviewing print specifications and confirming your workstation is ready. Depending on your experience, you may perform machine setups to defined parameters, run first-piece parts, make the right adjustments to achieve print-defined characteristics, and complete the required documentation for setup approval. Throughout the shift, you’ll load parts, cycle equipment, and inspect at planned intervals—fine-tuning as needed to maintain quality.
