Job summary

HOYA Vision Care, located in Robertsdale, AL, is seeking a Lens Finishing Technician to join our lens manufacturing team. This role involves inspecting lenses from the Surface Department before finish blocking or AR coating to ensure quality and precision in production.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with prior optical manufacturing experience preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Spot lenses to check power and prism measurements for accuracy
• Inspect and pad block lenses using specialized blocking equipment
• Operate edging equipment to edge lenses to proper specifications and requirements
• Use buffing equipment to polish lens edges before mounting procedures
• Clean and insert ophthalmic lenses into ophthalmic frames with precision
• Utilize lensometer equipment to check lens attributes against established quality standards
• Verify lens treatments and proper frame alignment against prescription specifications
