Job summary

MARSHALLTOWN Hammer in Walnut Ridge, AR is seeking a Lathe Setup Operator to sharpen, shape, and maintain cutting tools, cams, and knives for production. You will ensure optimal production rates while upholding quality and finishes, operating on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Applicants should have mechanical aptitude, be able to read English, use standard tools, and perform routine machine adjustments.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality while meeting production requirements.
• Experience using standard methods for tool sharpening and machine adjustments.
• Proficiency with hand, air, and power tools.
• Familiarity with electrical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Sharpen cutting tools and shape cams and knives according to patterns.
• Set knives and cams on machines to achieve size, shape, and finish.
• Make machine adjustments to ensure proper feed and size maintenance.
• Perform routine measurements and report to quality control.
• Disassemble machines for repairs, diagnose issues and replace parts.
• Maintain shop electrical equipment and safety adherence.
• Meet hourly production goals and keep area clean.
• Follow safety requirements and procedures.
• Assist with other duties as needed by supervisors
