Job summary

Nucor Steel West Virginia LLC in Apple Grove, WV is seeking a Lab & Calibration Coordinator to manage etch testing, calibration, and lab support within the Technical Services team. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to national standards.

You will maintain calibration systems, support galvanizing lab activities, and ensure data integrity across tests and documentation in a steel production environment.#{nbsp}

Qualifications

• Technical certificate or associate degree in an industrial, mechanical, metallurgical, metrology, chemistry or laboratory field.
• Experience with slab sample preparation and etching.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform macro-etch testing and slab sample preparation.
• Maintain calibration programs and traceability to national standards (NIST).
• Support Galvanizing Lab operations and preventive maintenance of lab equipment.
• Record data accurately in Nucor systems and ensure traceability.
• Follow ASTM/ISO procedures and escalate anomalies as needed.
• On‑call schedule outside regular hours as required.
