Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as knife grinder, machinist, saw filer, or similar industrial role preferred.
• Knowledge of knife grinding equipment, techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain industrial grinding machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Willing to work flexible shifts, including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain knife grinding equipment to sharpen and maintain knives and cutting tools.
• Inspect blades for wear, damage, and defects; perform adjustments or replacements as needed.
• Follow established grinding procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
• Monitor blade performance and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of blade maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate with mill personnel to manage workflow and priorities.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
