Job summary

Narda MITEQ is seeking a quality inspection professional to perform inspections on in-house machined and purchased precision components, assemblies, and materials. You will interpret drawings, BOMs, and specs to determine acceptance or rejection and maintain inspection records.

The role requires proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and tools like OGP or XRF, plus familiarity with GD&T and Mil-STD standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience or 2-year post-secondary/Associate degree with 2 years relevant experience.
• Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
• Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution.
• Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of components to ensure compliance to drawings, customer specifications and workmanship standards.
• Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as a caliper, micrometer, and other required gauges.
• Familiar with mechanical measuring equipment such as Optical Gaging Product (OGP), and/or X-ray fluorescence (XRF), testing used to determine the elemental composition of materials.
• Knowledge and understanding of different materials used in manufacturing (aluminum, brass, copper, etc.).
• Knowledge and understanding of tolerances and basic GD&T of blueprint drawings.
• Visual inspection for workmanship and print compliance with aid of a microscope if applicable.
• Maintain inspection logs and records.
• Familiar with industry standards such as Mil Specs, IPC-A-610 and MIL-STD-883.
• Additional tasks assigned by your supervisor/manager.
