Job summary

LSI, Inc. is seeking a Finish Painter to assist in prep, touch-up, and finishes on production projects. You will work with paints, enamels, lacquers and protective coatings, preparing surfaces, selecting primers, and applying finishes on metal structures.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience. Travel up to 10% and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance are noted requirements. Pay range is $21.17-$28.22 per hour with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Requires comprehension in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of proper application of protective coatings and paints, including lacquers and epoxies.
• Experience with paint spray guns and coating preparation.
• Willingness to wear PPE and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for primer and final finish coatings using sanding and brushing tools.
• Clean/strip old coatings and corrosion from components.
• Apply mixed primers and coatings to aluminum and steel structures.
• Mix and match primers and paints as required.
• Operate a spray painter to apply industrial finishes.
• Follow MSDS and safety requirements for handling materials.
• Apply stencils and markings per manuals and drawings.
• Use PPE such as respirators and Tyvek suits; assist with government equipment.
• Work overtime as needed and perform other duties.
