Job summary

Vermeer in the United States is seeking a Painter I on second shift to apply primer, pre-finish and finish coats to Vermeer machines and parts. You will prepare surfaces, mask as required and operate paint-line equipment with a focus on quality and safety.

The role emphasizes thorough surface prep, adherence to SOPs, and accurate coating quality checks using WFT/DFT gauges. Entry-level painting experience or a formal coatings program is preferred; travel is not expected.

Qualifications

• Entry-level painting experience or formal painting/coatings training preferred.
• Ability to learn and operate HVLP and electrostatic spray equipment.
• Must follow SOPs, prep surfaces, and maintain quality records.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer and topcoat to metal parts and finished products.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, scuffing, mask­ing per print and SOP.
• Operate and maintain paint-line equipment and perform PM/TPM activities.
• Mix coatings by weight/volume, monitor viscosity and temperature.
• Measure coating quality with WFT/DFT gauges and document results.
• Inspect parts for defects and communicate issues across shifts.
