Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Painter I on the third shift to apply primer, pre-finish, and finish coats to Vermeer yellow iron parts and machines. You will work as part of a quality-focused team, preparing surfaces and ensuring adherence to SOPs.

You will operate paint-line equipment, adjust coatings, measure WFT/DFT, fix defects, and document quality records. Prior entry-level painting experience and completion of a painting/coatings program preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• Entry-level painting experience preferred.
• Complete Vermeer Paint Training Program.
• Ability to learn and perform hands-on spray application (HVLP/electrostatic).
• Readiness to measure coating quality using WFT/DFT gauges and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer and topcoat to treated metal parts per SOP.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, and masking per print/SOP.
• Operate/maintain paint-line equipment, perform PM/TPM and safe changeovers.
• Mix coatings by weight/volume and check viscosity, temperature and humidity.
• Measure coating quality with WFT/DFT gauges and document results.
• Inspect parts and repair defects, communicating issues to cross-shift teams.
