Crown Battery Manufacturing Co. is seeking an Industrial Battery Assembler in the Manufacturing department. The role focuses on assembling batteries, connecting cells in series/parallel and using a hand torch to finalize intercells, ensuring parts meet specifications and quality characteristics.

The position emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, following diagrams, and accurate cable/layout assembly while supporting quality objectives and Crown Quality System documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience with safety and environmental training.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast paced setting.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to use some hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow policies, procedures and instructions.
• Identify and report product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
• Support implementation of corrective/preventative and improvement actions.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
• Proper housekeeping of the work area.
• Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures including the proper use of PPE.
• Use the battery assembly diagram to figure out layout of the battery.
• Place intercells on the cells in proper order. Use a hand torch to burn remaining intercells and cell button together.
• Examine work order for any special items.
• Responsible for measuring cable layout and length. Make the cables with proper lead head and install onto the battery.
• Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
