Job summary

Fillauer in Chattanooga, Tennessee seeks a skilled Hook Fabrication Specialist to perform post-machining operations, finishing, assembly and quality inspections on prosthetic hooks and related components. You will ensure products meet quality, durability and performance standards before reaching customers.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on manufacturing, has a mechanical aptitude, and takes pride in producing high-quality products that improve lives for individuals with limb loss.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or production.
• Experience using hand tools and basic shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform finishing operations on prosthetic hooks and components (sanding, grinding, alignment, fitting, vulcanization).
• Interpret work orders and production specifications accurately.
• Meet productivity goals while maintaining quality and workflow.
• Record labor, materials, and production activities using electronic systems.
• Inspect components for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
• Verify dimensions using measuring tools and gauges.
• Identify and handle non-conforming materials per procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues with supervisors and team members.
• Operate equipment (belt sanders, grinders, presses, ovens, sandblasting).
• Perform metal forming and bending as required.
