Job summary

Clear Concepts, Inc. is seeking an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to join a premier manufacturing partner in Connecticut.

You will set up and operate manual honing equipment to produce components to extremely tight tolerances and superior surface finishes. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting stones and fixtures, inspecting parts with micrometers and calipers, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years honing or precision machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with extremely tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics and metal properties.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines.
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002 inch).
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys.
• Select honing stones, abrasives, tooling, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
