Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC client in Connecticut seeks an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist to set up and operate manual honing equipment, producing precision components to tight tolerances and superior surface finishes. You will read blueprints, select tools, measure parts with micrometers and calipers, and work with engineering and quality teams to meet aggressive production goals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years honing or precision machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, shop mathematics and metal properties.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines.
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (0.0001–0.0002").
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment and verify quality.
