Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking an experienced Honing Technician / Precision ID Machinist in Connecticut to join a respected manufacturing client. You will set up and operate manual honing equipment to manufacture parts with extreme tolerances and superb surface finish.

Responsibilities include selecting honing tools, reading blueprints, inspecting with precision instruments, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams. Great benefits and a stable environment are offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of honing or precision machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of machining practices and metal properties.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual honing machines.
• Produce components to extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0001–0.0002").
• Hone aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and specialty alloys.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
