Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in Valley Green, PA is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join the Cable Backplane Product Development team. You will blend mechanical and electrical design to develop precision mechanisms for high-speed backplanes and interact with internal sites and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred), 3+ years CAD experience with Creo, and strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FEA skills. Travel ~15% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of CAD design experience with Creo.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FEA.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel ~15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Understand evolving industry needs and product requirements.
• Collaborate with NPI and Machine Design teams for high-volume production.
• Work with the Signal Integrity team to support electrical performance via mechanical design.
• Ensure mechanical design reliability and quality over product life.
• Interface with customers during project phases and support sales.
• Develop initial product specifications and technical documentation.
• Work with suppliers on DFM, prototyping, tooling, and qualifications.
• Provide technical assistance to marketing and sales.
• Contribute to cost reduction and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
• Present project updates to upper management.
• Attend industry trade shows as needed.
