Job summary

Veritiv Corporation in Chicago is seeking a Cutter Operator to set up, program, operate, and maintain the Cutter Machine and related handling gear to trim paper stock per customer specs and schedules. You will ensure quality, productivity, and safety in a fast-paced printing manufacturing setting.

You will review job tickets and layouts, load stock, adjust cutters, measure and verify dimensions, document production steps, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting with a focus on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets, layouts and specifications.
• Ability to perform basic math and measure stock.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with electronic controls and equipment.
• Ability to work independently or with a team to meet schedules.

Responsibilities

• Review job tickets, layouts, impositions, and specifications to determine cutting requirements and production sequence.
• Set up, program, and operate Cutter machine using computerized controls and cutting specifications to meet customer specs and deadlines.
• Load paper stock onto cutter beds and handling equipment and transport finished materials to next operation or shipping area.
• Jog and align paper stacks to ensure accurate cutting and squareness.
• Inspect finished materials for dimension accuracy and quality; complete production records and quality documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance, blade changes, lubrication, and troubleshoot machine issues.
