In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining die-cutting machinery to precise specifications. The ideal candidate has direct experience working with paperboard, or paper substrates, ensuring high-quality output with minimal waste.

Machine Setup & Operation:Set up and operate manual or semi-automated die-cutting presses (e.g., Bobst, Heidelberg, Cylinder, or similar) according to job tickets and dielines.
Tooling & Die Preparation:Install dies, stripping components, and counter-creasing matrices. Perform make-ready processes to ensure clean cuts, scores, and creases.
Quality Control:Inspect first-off pieces and conduct regular quality checks throughout production runs to ensure registration, depth, and dimensions meet strict quality standards.
Substrate Handling:Manage paper, paperboard, stock feeds, adjusting machine settings for different calipers, weights, and grain directions.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Perform routine preventative maintenance (lubrication, cleaning) and troubleshoot mechanical or cutting issues mid-run to minimize downtime.
Safety & Documentation:Maintain a clean, safe work environment set by company safety guidelines. Accurately log production data, waste counts, and time tracking.
Experience:Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating die-cutting machinery, sheet cutters specifically within the paper printing industry.
Technical Knowledge:Strong understanding of paper weights, scoring, creasing, and the mechanics of steel rule dies.
Mechanical Aptitude:Ability to use hand tools for machine adjustments and perform complex make-readies independently.
Detail-Oriented:Excellent eyesight and attention to detail to spot minor defects, registration shifts, or structural flaws.
Physical Stamina:Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing/manufacturing is a plus.
