Job summary

STERIS is seeking a skilled welder to join our medical device manufacturing team. You will set up and operate TIG welding equipment, interpret blueprints and travelers, and plan welds with fixtures and holding devices.

Precise measurement and documentation of results are required to meet tight tolerances. The role demands experience in metal fabrication, the ability to troubleshoot, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of welding experience; completing a welding program may count.
  • Minimum 2 years in metal fabrication or machining environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols and blueprints.

Responsibilities

Imagine Your Day at STERISYou arrive for a steady, daytime schedule — Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. In a clean medical device manufacturing environment, you set up TIG (GTAW) equipment and get to work on high‑mix, low‑volume parts in stainless steel and aluminum. You review travelers and work instructions, study the blueprint with its welding symbols, and plan your manual layout and surface prep. With parts secured in fixtures, you lay down precise welds, check dimensions with gauges and measuring tools, and sign off to stringent quality standards.
