Job summary

Gardner Denver, part of Ingersoll Rand, seeks a Precision Grinding and CNC Offset Technician in Sedalia, MO for 2nd shift. You will operate grinding equipment, hold tight tolerances, balance rotating assemblies, and interpret blueprints, while using cranes and forklifts safely.

The role requires CNC program reading and minor edits, attention to quality, and teamwork in a high-precision environment. A high school diploma is preferred; strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on metrology experience

Qualifications

• 2+ years in machining; CNC experience preferred.
• Ability to hold ±0.0002 in tolerances on ground diameters.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints.
• Capable of making CNC offsets and minor program edits.
• Proficient with precision metrology tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding equipment to hold ±0.0002 in on OD diameters.
• Balance rotating assemblies (static and dynamic) to specification.
• Use forklifts, overhead cranes, and walk-behind lifts safely.
• Assemble equipment per blueprints and customer specs; apply correct torque values.
• Measure, document, and verify dimensions; maintain clean work area.
• Understand, edit, and offset CNC programs by reading code and observing machine performance.
• Identify quality defects and address unsafe conditions promptly.
