Job summary

Katy Spring & Mfg., Inc. is seeking a dependable Grinder to operate spring grinding equipment, monitor the process, and inspect finished parts for quality. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; pay ranges from $19.00–$22.00 per hour based on experience.

You will load/unload parts, use gauges, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, basic measuring skills, and the ability to read instructions and blueprints, with strong attention to detail

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial machinery or production equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and travelers.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate spring grinding machines safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload springs and materials from grinding equipment.
• Monitor machines during production and make basic adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality requirements and specifications are met.
• Use gauges and basic measuring tools to check part dimensions and quality.
• Assist with dressing, changing, and maintaining grinding wheels.
• Identify and report quality issues, equipment problems, or unusual machine conditions.
• Read and follow job travelers, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Maintain equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning tools or machinery.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
• Meet production expectations while maintaining quality standards.
• Work with supervisors, Quality Control, and other production employees as needed.
