Job summary

Magnetic Component Engineering, a subsidiary of Dexter Magnetic Technologies, is based in Torrance, CA, and specializes in grinding parts to exact specifications for aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, and industrial markets. This role focuses on operating grinders to produce parts in steel, alloys, plastics, and magnetic materials, following blueprints and quality standards.

The position includes training in various grinder types, basic inspections, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school certification in Machining or Tool and Die preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience machining prototypes, fixtures and gages; grinding experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed blueprints and customer specifications; work direction from supervisors.
• Learn to operate grinders including ID/OD grinders, surface grinders, and centerless grinders.
• Learn basic inspections and document work using precision measuring equipment and gages.
• Unload and clean parts from grinders
• Learn preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties
• Assist with special projects and other related duties as assigned.
