Job summary

Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures is seeking a grinder/operator to support fabrication of enclosure assemblies, sub-panels, and accessories. You will operate grinding tools and fabrication equipment, finish metal parts, and inspect for defects to ensure cosmetic quality before the next production step.

The role requires reading basic drawings, following SOPs, and maintaining a safe, tidy work area. Team collaboration and safe PPE use are essential in this fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow established SOPs and work instructions.
• Skilled with basic hand tools and grinding equipment.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Willing to follow directions and work independently.
• Ability to complete required paperwork accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard grinding tools and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Grind, smooth, and finish metal components to remove burrs, weld marks, scratches, and excess material.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure cosmetic quality prior to next production stage.
• Interpret basic work instructions, drawings and specifications as needed.
• Identify and report defective materials or questionable quality conditions.
• Maintain consistent quality standards while meeting production requirements.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow all company safety policies and PPE usage.
