Job summary

Jagemann is seeking an experienced OD Grinder to join our second-shift tool room, owning surface, cylindrical, and form grinding to produce precision tools. Choose four 10‑hour days or five 8‑hour days.

You will write and edit CNC programs, plan cutting parameters, and develop fixtures for non-standard parts. Two to three years of diversified toolroom experience, Mazak certification, and strong knowledge of materials and safety procedures are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus specialized machine operation and metalworking training.
• Mazak programming certification.
• Partial completion of Machine Tool Operation curriculum.
• CAD/CAM and Solutionware training completion.
• 1-3 years of diversified toolroom and machining experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in CNC lathe operation and setup.
• Strong understanding of machining characteristics for various materials.
• Ability to work to close tolerances with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate manual and precision grinding machines to process parts per customer specifications.
• Plan work sequences and determine cutting parameters (feeds, speeds, depths).
• Work to close tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
• Write and edit CNC programs from start to finish.
• Calculate dimensional relationships and input data directly into machine controllers.
• Design and develop custom holding fixtures and soft jaws for non-standard parts.
• Train and mentor CNC operators and apprentices.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
