Job summary

ATI is seeking a Portable Grinder for 1st shift at our Cudahy, Wisconsin plant. The shift runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with responsibilities focused on preparing and finishing metal stock.

The role requires operating a portable grinder, inspecting surfaces, and maintaining safe, accurate processes. Candidates should have manufacturing experience and forklift familiarity, plus basic English literacy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience meeting production goals.
• Minimum of 6 months' forklift experience.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Receives carbon, alloy and high-density steel stock requiring grinding.
• Operates portable grinder, positioning wheel against metal surfaces to remove excess metal, fins, burrs, seams, defects, etc.
• Exhibits care and judgment to avoid damaging contours of stock.
• Changes grinding wheel for efficient operation. Uses hand tools as needed.
• Places processed stock in proper container for further routing.
• Maintains identity, i.e.: serial, heat codes, etc.
