Job summary

Van Wall is looking for an experienced mechanic to specialize in reel and knife grinding for golf and sports turf equipment. This role will diagnose, repair and perform scheduled maintenance of golf and turf equipment.

The job will consist of reel and knife work approximately 70% of the time. The ideal candidate will diagnose mechanical issues with reels and knives, with knowledge of height of cut adjustments and electrical/hydraulic systems preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required
• Associate or technician program degree preferred
• Ownership of necessary tools and ability to pull a trailer
• Experience with golf course equipment preferred
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50-80 lbs occasionally
• Valid driver’s license and insurability per company standards
• Experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment as required
• Grind mowing reels and adjust per customer specifications
• Grind stationary knives and adjust per customer specifications
• Perform reconditioning and repair of all machine systems and components
• Prepare reports and forms for job assignments
• Participate in training programs as directed by the Service Manager
• Report unsafe conditions or non-serviceable tools to the Service Manager
• Follow safety rules and regulations in all work assignments
