Job summary

Wildwood Country Club is seeking an experienced and reliable Golf Course Mechanic / Equipment Technician to maintain and repair all turf maintenance equipment used in daily golf course operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently to keep equipment operating at peak performance.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a golf course mechanic or turf equipment technician (preferred).
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and small engine repair skills.
  • Experience with reel grinding equipment and mower setup.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment, including reel and rotary mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, aerators, sprayers, and topdressers.
  • Perform reel grinding, bedknife setup, and sharpening (backlapping and relief grinding).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Communicate equipment needs and repair status with the Superintendent.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized maintenance facility.
  • Assist with equipment purchasing recommendations and parts inventory.
  • Provide basic training to staff on proper equipment operation and care.
  • Occasional weekend or early morning work as required during peak season.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment, including:
    • Reel and rotary mowers (greens, tees, fairways, rough)
    • Utility vehicles and carts
    • Tractors, aerators, sprayers, and topdressers
  • Perform reel grinding, bedknife setup, and sharpening (backlapping and relief grinding)
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Communicate equipment needs and repair status with the Superintendent
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and manufacturer standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility
  • Assist with equipment purchasing recommendations and parts inventory
  • Provide basic training to staff on proper equipment operation and care
  • Occasional weekend or early morning work as required during peak season
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a golf course mechanic or turf equipment technician (preferred)
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and small engine repair skills
  • Experience with reel grinding equipment and mower setup
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop and outdoor environment
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus
  • Familiarity with Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen, or similar equipment preferred
