Job summary

Modern Industries is seeking a part-time to hourly inspector to verify quality of in-process and finished parts. The role requires reading drawings, using precision gages, and recording results in the ERP system.

You will inspect parts against control plans, identify non-conformities, and approve compliant items for shipment or rework. The position requires a high school diploma and basic computer skills, with potential for overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient with current computer software.
• Interpret drawings, control plans and work instructions to determine sample quantities and features for inspection.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers and other gages for inspection.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, control plans, process instructions and work instructions to determine sample quantities and features to be inspected for lots of parts with supervision.
• Use micrometers, calipers, visual inspection, and other gages as required to complete planned inspections with supervision.
• Identify and report conditions that do not meet requirements, and approve acceptable parts for shipment or further processing.
• Transfer rejected parts to staging area and log data into the ERP system.
• Verify implementation of appropriate corrective action for quality issues.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other gages as required.
• Maintain clean work areas and orderly storage of fixtures, gages and special inspection equipment.
• Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
