MICA Steelworks in North Texas is seeking a Fitter Trainee to lay out, fabricate, fit, and join metal for tapered tubular steel structures under the Production Supervisor. You’ll read blueprints and use a tape measure to help ensure UT-passable welds through accurate fit-up.

No pole experience is required to start; our Fitter Trainee pathway and dedicated Fitter Trainer will teach you the tapered tubular pole fit-up from the ground up, with a defined ladder that increases pay as you certify at

Formación

• Read tape measure to 1/16" and perform shop math.
• Pass NewHire Fitter Assessment (tape measure, shop math, blueprint & weld symbols).
• Work 1st or 2nd shift with overtime as needed; maintain reliable attendance.
• Able to work in a shop with seasonal temperatures; teamwork-focused.

Responsabilidades

• Perform fitting and joining to blueprint specifications for UT-passable welds.
• Set up layouts with jigs/fixtures or hand layouts for fabrications.
• Locate pole shafts, check twist/camber against criteria, lay out and fit components.
• Fabricate multi-component parts and verify conformance with tools.
• Operate cranes, hoists, grinders, torches; maintain equipment and safety.
• Cross-train and perform other tasks; maintain 5S housekeeping.
• Manage time to production standards; work efficiently with the team.
• Follow safety programs and policies; participate in continuous education.
