Job summary

Armstrong World Industries in Millwood, WV is seeking a Finishing/Packaging Operator to join our full‑time team. You will inspect the line, operate forklifts and loaders, and ensure packaging meets customer specifications while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities include starting up and shutting down equipment, recording production data, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Overtime may be required; candidates must work well in a team and adhere to lean processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of prior industrial or warehouse experience preferred.
• Prior experience with lean/process improvement preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in roles within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to work without direct supervision and be team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of the PLO work area and equipment for malfunctions.
• Follow PPE guidelines and safe work practices.
• Conduct daily safety risk assessments.
• Operate packaging and conveying equipment safely and efficiently.
• Properly package finished product according to SOPs and customer specs.
• Load materials and position them using suitable equipment.
• Complete required packaging paperwork and quality control reports.
• Provide thorough shift communications to teams.
