Job summary

Forest River Bus is seeking a Machine Operator: Collins Bus in South Hutchinson, Kansas to set up and run fabrication equipment, read job specifications, and produce parts to exacting quality standards.

You will measure work pieces, adjust stops, inspect for defects, remove burrs, and operate safety equipment. Overtime may be required to meet production goals.

This role supports a precision manufacturing team focused on reliable, efficient operation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Able to read tape measure.
• Able to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to learn and operate various machines in Fabrication department.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops and guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Position work piece against stops or align layout marks with dye or blade.
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
• Produce parts according to quality standards.
• Use and setup safety equipment in assigned work center.
• Able to reproduce all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.
