Job summary

Stylus Apparel in Linden, New Jersey is seeking a detail-oriented Hand Fabric Cutter to support our apparel production. You will cut fabric, leather and textiles, interpret patterns, and prepare precise layouts for cutting, ensuring minimal waste and high-quality production.

You will operate fabric cutting machines, use pattern-making tools, check measurements for QC, and help create garment samples while maintaining a clean, calibrated workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabric cutting within a manufacturing or tailoring environment.
• Strong knowledge of pattern-making software and flat pattern making.
• Familiarity with leather, textiles and specialty fabrics used in apparel production.
• Ability to operate fabric cutting and sewing machines safely and efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail with precision in measurement and pattern alignment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret pattern designs using drafting and flat pattern making techniques to prepare fabric layouts for cutting.
• Operate fabric cutting machines and manual cutting tools with precision to minimize waste.
• Implement pattern-making tools and software to develop accurate templates for garment components.
• Cut fabrics such as leather and textiles according to measurements and quality standards.
• Assist in creating garment samples by fabricating prototypes that meet design specs.
• Conduct measurement checks for quality control throughout the cutting process.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and calibrate cutting equipment.
