Job summary

ZEISS Group in Dublin, CA seeks a skilled technician to set up, operate, and maintain precision machinery for electromechanical assemblies. You will follow procedures, work with engineering teams, and perform QA testing to ensure high quality production while minimizing downtime on a three-tier role. Swing shift is 1:30 p.m.

– 10:00 p.m., with initial 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. during first 3 months. You will build, test, and document assemblies, maintain Kanban materials, and train others in assembly

Qualifications

• Experience performing precision mechanical and electromechanical assembly in a structured manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and build assemblies to documented specifications with high accuracy.
• Familiarity with high vacuum assemblies, turbo pumps, and helium leak detectors is preferred.
• Experience with gas/fluid delivery systems, flanges, fittings.
• Proficiency with inspection tools and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of electromechanical systems and subassemblies used in ZEISS X-ray source production.
• Follow procedures, drawings, and quality standards to match approved build requirements.
• Maintain cleanroom environment and conduct QA testing and rework with R&D and manufacturing engineers.
• Execute mechanical alignment, cabling, harness routing, PCB testing, programming, and calibration.
• Build Kanban materials and complete production documentation for material flow.
• Use precision measurement tools to verify dimensional accuracy and build quality.
• Perform in-process inspections and functional checks before release to next production step.
• Train technicians in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting within the team.
• Address nonconformance issues and conduct inventory cycle counts.
• Generate and review assembly procedures and schematics based on engineering feedback.
