Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 4 for a 4th shift (6am–6:30pm, Fri-Sun) in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will perform mechanical assembly on opto-mechanical and electro-optical assemblies, inspect progress, and support prototype/test builds.

The role requires 6 years of hands-on assembly or an Associate's with 4 years' experience, ability to read drawings, and US Secret Clearance eligibility. OT may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of mechanical assembly work, or an Associate's with 4 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with tooling, equipment, and reading drawings.
• Experience building or working with wire harnesses/cable assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly, potting, magnet stacking, mpm, transmitter assembly.
• Rework/troubleshooting and in-process inspections.
• Run and maintain furnaces; honing/machining tasks.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and assembly docs.
• Use precision hand tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our Team as a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 4 (4th shift) based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the execution and support of all mechanical activities as they relate to the production of optical-mechanical assemblies, including tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on opto-mechanical, electro-optical and electronic and/or mechanical assemblies.

Working from diagrams and drawings, making initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools.

Performs continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.

May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications provided by engineering groups.

• Perform mechanical fit-up, alignment, and hardware installation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be willing to work with minimal support

This is a 4th shift position, working from 6am to 6:30pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Training will be conducted during 1st shift hours.

Basic Qualifications for the Precision Electromechanical Assembler 4:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 6 years of mechanical assembly work experience or an Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Hands on experience with various tooling and equipment.
• Experience following work instructions and reading/interpreting drawings.
• Experience with building or working with wire harnesses and/or cable assemblies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with precision mechanical assemblies and tight tolerance work.
• Soldering, crimping, and connector installation experience.
• Troubleshooting experience with new hardware design.
• Working with chemicals SAP or MES equivalent
• Must be able to work OT if required
• Extensive mechanical experience
• Machining/Honing experience

Desired:

• Sputtering equipment CNC experience

#MPR Primary Level Salary Range: $63,500.00 - $105,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
