Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL is seeking a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 4 (4th shift). You will perform mechanical assembly of opto-mechanical, electro-optical, and electronic components, following diagrams and drawings, using hand and power tools, and performing in-process inspections.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (or Associate's with related experience), US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with wire harnesses or cable assemblies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly, potting, magnet stacking, transmitter assembly.
• Rework, troubleshoot, and conduct in-process inspections.
• Read drawings and assembly documentation and use precision tools.
• Maintain quality self-inspections and perform automated testing where applicable.
• Work from 6am to 6:30pm on Fri, Sat, Sun; training on 1st shift hours.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our Team as a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 4 (4th shift) based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the execution and support of all mechanical activities as they relate to the production of optical-mechanical assemblies, including tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on opto-mechanical, electro-optical and electronic and/or mechanical assemblies. Working from diagrams and drawings, making initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools. Performs continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications provided by engineering groups.

• Perform some automated testing
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
• Use a wide range of precision hand tools, torque tools, measuring equipment and mechanical test equipment.
• Perform mechanical fit-up, alignment, and hardware installation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be willing to work with minimal support.

This is a 4th shift position, working from 6am to 6:30pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Training will be conducted during 1st shift hours.

Basic Qualifications for the Precision Electromechanical Assembler 4:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 6 years of mechanical assembly work experience or an Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Hands on experience with various tooling and equipment.
• Experience following work instructions and reading/interpreting drawings.
• Experience with building or working with wire harnesses and/or cable assemblies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with precision mechanical assemblies and tight tolerance work.
• Soldering, crimping, and connector installation experience.
• Troubleshooting experience with new hardware design.
• Working with chemicals.
• SAP or MES equivalent.
• Must be able to work OT if required.
• Extensive mechanical experience.
• Machining/Honing experience.

• Sputtering equipment
• CNC experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $63,500.00 - $105,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
