Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2 to join our second shift team. You will build precision electromechanical products such as gyros and gear train mechanisms, working with microscopes and small parts.

The role requires familiarity with drilling, reaming, burnishing and tapping, plus measuring with precision tools. You may assemble, disassemble and repair assemblies, support prototype units, and ensure quality per SOPs and SPC

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 2 years related education/experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Available for 2nd shift (3PM–1:30AM or 2PM–11:30PM).

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision electromechanical products such as gyros and gear train mechanisms.
• Drill, ream, burnish, and tap; use precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances.
• Assemble, disassemble, repair and reassemble precision assemblies.
• May assemble/modify prototype precision units for engineering.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2 based in Salt Lake City, UT . The selected candidate for this position will work second shift on either a 4/10 schedule (Monday through Thursday, 3PM - 1:30AM) or a 9/80 schedule (2PM - 11:30PM).

What you will get to do:

• Performs a variety of operations to assemble precision electromechanical products such as gyros and gear train mechanisms.

• Performs tasks such as drilling, reaming, burnishing, and tapping; uses precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specified tolerance.

• Assembles, disassembles, repairs and reassembles precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions.

• May assemble and modifies prototype precision units for engineering personnel.

• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

• Handle and perform work on fiber optic material and equipment.

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate, work in a team environment, read, understand, work using a microscope, work with mechanical small parts, handle shock sensitive devices, and follow standard operation procedures or assembly instructions.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Must be available for 2nd shift (3PM - 1:30AM or 2PM - 11:30PM).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with techniques, approaches, guidelines, policies and procedures in the job area.

• Experience performing assembly techniques to make modifications, reworks and assemblies.

• Experience performing basic problem-solving techniques which are fully defined and available through the supervisor, coworkers and written materials.

• Experience with fiber optic handling.

• Experience using a microscope.

• Experience with Shock Sensitive Devices.

• Experience with mechanical small parts.

• Experience as a machine operator.

Primary Level Salary Range: $40,700.00 - $67,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
