Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2 to join the second shift on a 4/10 schedule. This role requires teamwork, reliable communication, and the ability to use a microscope and precision tools on electromechanical assemblies.

You will perform drilling, reaming, burnishing, tapping, and assemble gyros and gear train mechanisms, monitor quality with precision instruments, and support prototype unit assembly for engineering

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with an additional 2 years of education or related experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Availability for 2nd shift: 3:00pm–1:30am.
• Ability to read, understand, and work with microscope-based instructions.
• Ability to handle shock-sensitive devices and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision electromechanical products such as gyros and gear train mechanisms.
• Perform drilling, reaming, burnishing, and tapping; verify tolerances with precision instruments.
• Disassemble and repair precision assemblies and correct malfunctions.
• Assemble and modify prototype precision units for engineering staff.
• Monitor and verify quality according to statistical process control procedures.
• Handle fiber optic material and equipment.

Job Summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2 based in Salt Lake City, UT. This position will work second shift on a 4/10 schedule. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate, work in a team environment, and be available for the 4/10 Second Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3pm-1:30am.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of operations to assemble precision electromechanical products such as gyros and gear train mechanisms.
• Execute tasks such as drilling, reaming, burnishing, and tapping; use precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specified tolerance.
• Assemble, disassemble, repair, and reassemble precision assemblies and correct malfunctions.
• Assemble and modify prototype precision units for engineering personnel.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Handle and perform work on fiber optic material and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Must be available for 2nd shift (3:00pm – 1:30am).
• Ability to communicate, read, understand, and work using a microscope; work with mechanical small parts; handle shock‑sensitive devices; and follow standard operation procedures or assembly instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with techniques, approaches, guidelines, policies, and procedures in the job area.
• Experience performing assembly techniques to make modifications, reworks, and assemblies.
• Experience performing basic problem‑solving techniques that are fully defined and available through the supervisor, coworkers, and written materials.
• Experience with fiber optic handling.
• Experience using a microscope.
• Experience with shock‑sensitive devices.
• Experience with mechanical small parts.

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $40,700.00 – $67,900.00 (based on scope and responsibilities, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and market conditions).
