Job summary

Software Placement Group in Manchester, CT is seeking an Electrical Panel Assembly Technician to build and wire control panels from schematics and blueprints. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in electromechanical assembly, strong mechanical aptitude, and a focus on safety and quality.

You will lay out and mount components, route and terminate wires, measure enclosures, and inspect finished panels for accuracy and integrity before testing.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of electrical panel building, electromechanical assembly, or related electrical trade experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials.
• Experience using wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, drills, taps, and similar tools.
• Attention to wire routing, color coding, and component placement.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks requiring fine motor skills.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Lay out and mount switches, relays, circuit breakers, transformers, PLCs, and terminal blocks in panels and enclosures.
• Route, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires according to electrical schematics and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
• Measure, drill, tap, and cut enclosures and back panels for component installation.
• Inspect finished panels for wiring accuracy, component placement, and structural integrity before testing.
• Apply wire markers, component tags, and terminal labels according to engineering documentation.
• Keep the work area organized and follow site safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
