Job summary

Powergen Controls, a Houston-based engineering and manufacturing company specializing in custom power generation and electrical control solutions, is seeking a Panel Assembler. You will read drawings, lay out and wire control panels, assemble components, and verify quality through testing and inspections.

This hands-on role requires using hand and power tools, accurate fabrication, and strong attention to detail in a team environment.

Qualifications

Experience building electrical control panels or similar equipment.
Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Ability to follow wiring diagrams to wire panel components.
Ability to read and use a tape measure, ruler, and other measuring tools.
Experience using common hand and power tools.
Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret assembly drawings, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work orders.
Lay out components on backplates according to drawings and specifications.
Drill and tap backplates for mounting components.
Wire control panels according to wiring diagrams and schematics.
Assemble cables, connectors, and subassemblies.
Perform crimping, soldering, and other assembly operations as required.
Label panels, wires, and assemblies.
Perform testing and visual inspections to verify adherence to drawings and standards.
