Granite Construction Incorporated seeks a skilled Finish Dozer Operator to join our construction crew on site in Merritt Island, FL. You will operate finish dozers and related heavy equipment to grade, level, and prepare sites for construction projects.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and be able to read engineering drawings, maintain safe work practices, and work in challenging environments. Apprenticeship completion and proper certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Read engineering drawings and interpret specs.
• Practice and promote safe work habits on construction sites.
• Work in dusty or dirty surroundings and manage exposure risks.
• Follow instructions and meet set standards for quality and productivity.
• Judge distances and slopes accurately to achieve correct grades.
• Make decisions based on verifiable standards and job procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate finish dozers and other heavy machinery to perform grading, site preparation, and leveling tasks.
• Attach and exchange implements, connect hydraulic hoses, and manage tool offsets.
• Drive bulldozer passes to reach specified grades and contours.
• Perform routine maintenance such as greasing and minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure safety protocols and PPE are consistently followed.
• Coordinate with team to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
• Assist with routine inspections and reporting of progress and issues.
• Adhere to company policies and project-specific safety plans.
